Sikh Wedding Photography & Cinematography at Gravesend
for Gurjot & Mandeep
At a time when the world seems to have come to a standstill amidst a pandemic, some find solace in small celebrations in Gravesend. This was exactly the case with our beautiful couple Gurjot and Mandeed. The couple had contacted Asian Wedding Photographers East West Photography to capture both photography and filming for the day.
The joy of a Sikh wedding in its true form of simplicity, a simple phrase, “less is more” springs to mind.
The very elegant bride Mandeep, dressed by the very talented Gini Bhogal wearing a traditional wedding ensemble designed by bibiLondon graced the corridors and paths of Gravesend Sikh Temple, known for its grandeur of architecture and stunning wood carved features.
Mandeep had unfortunately lost her dad before her wedding, So we wanted to incorporate the beautiful portrait of her dad in the images that took on the day, we managed to take shots with mum dressing Mandeep and dad’s portrait in the background. With the final portraits at home reminding us of the Bollywood film , Umrao Jaan.
Our groom Gurjot, in his flamboyant red and navy regal attire equally graced his wedding ceremony appearing stylish and opulent.
Both the couple have a passion for cars, with Mandeep loving her Mercedes and Gurjot loving his BMW’s. The decision had to be made in what cars they would travel to the Gurdwara…Gurjot finally decided to drive in the beautiful BMW and Mandeep’s cousin’s booked the Bentley followed by the Ferrari’s.
Unfortunately the weather was not on our side on the day with the rain falling the couple made the grand entrance and the ceremony commenced with a Ardas, a Sikh prayer to signify the beginning of the event.
The Gurdwara has three huge prayer rooms and we were lucky to have the main room for the ceremony. The windows are all stained to resemble a gurdwara from India with high ceilings and religious wordings on the walls.
A beautiful ritual commemorated with utmost sophistication and humble pride.
East West Photography were honoured to witness and capture every moment of this wonderful union of two beautiful souls.
