The Brewery occupies the site of the former Whitbread brewery in East London. In 1750 Samuel Whitbread, having bought property in the area, transplanted his operations to Chiswell Street from two smaller breweries in Old Street and Brick Lane.
Our wedding license allows The Brewery to host your ceremony and reception on-site. We can perform civil ceremonies and civil partnerships, and have hosted culturally diverse weddings from the Asian, Hebrew and Greek communities.
As one of the few City venues to boast outside space, the Brewery offers an historic and enclosed cobbled courtyard which is perfect for marquees, alfresco drink receptions and stunning backdrops for wedding photography. Ideal for intimate nuptials through to grand-scale ceremonies for up to 900 guests, the Brewery is a versatile venue, priding itself on the “blank canvas” nature of its offering. The Brewery’s historic setting is complimented by the utmost in modern, discreet and attentive service levels, and sensitively planned menus cater for all palates and cultural requirements. Weddings can take place seven days a week and every event is tailor-made to suit couples’ personal taste, budget and dreams.
